-- SMP Linux --

Min. Time / Frame : 34mn 12s - 641.26 ppd
Avg. Time / Frame : 34mn 50s - 629.60 ppd

It has a 4 day deadline & will complete, all being well, in 2 1/2 days.
It is less points than a 2604 & 1/2 day longer plus it is using 91-98% CPU whereas the 1760pts 2604/5 never got much over 91% @ 27-29 mins a frame.

My best for this WU so far:

Min. Time / Frame : 14mn 09s - 1549.91 ppd
Avg. Time / Frame : 14mn 09s - 1549.91 ppd

That's on my E6600. The Opty 165 gets about 900 ppd for it and the "lesser" X2 3800+ gets about 720 ppd.

As far as I can see, none of my other Linux rigs have had any.

Stan :)

Looks like my Dual CPU Xeon 2.8 (stock speeds) server has one

Min. Time / Frame : 17mn 12s - 1275.07 ppd
Avg. Time / Frame : 17mn 17s - 1268.92 ppd

I like the look of that. Fairly comparable to the 2610 WUs.

OMG:eek: I hope the E6600 is overclocked to knock off over 20 mins per frame.
I hate to think what yr Quad is capable of:(

The Opty 165 gets about 900 ppd for it and the "lesser" X2 3800+ gets about 720 ppd.
I presume these are o/c'ed as well otherwise I'm baffled.
Time to buy that 500MHz RAM to up my o/c me thinks

I tried Windows SMP and couldn't meet the deadlines on my E6300.

I see you have a E6600, is it worth me giving SMP another go?

It's clocked to about 3.15GHz if memory serves correctly.

Unfortunately, the quad only seems to get 1440 point WUs which get just under 2800 ppd.

They are oc'ed but not a lot. The Opty has always been a bit of a poor clocker so is only at about 2.60GHz and I've just checked the 3800+ and it appears to be running at stock

What are you running it on? That score looks a bit low tbh.

Yes, but only if folding at least 18-20h a day - I've a e6300 here at work that only clocked to 2.0 crunching WinSMP units - runs 24/7 and complete them in 2.5 day. But the other e6300 that opposite me is currently matching my ppd with two standard clients.

Edit: I've do have the worst SMP Wu (2610) and it's crunching some of the best standard units currently.

On which WUs?
My 805D gets a bit close to the deadlines on P2610s - I can't see how you would struggle with an E6300 (unless it's "not on" for some of the day)

Maybe the Opty is doing so well as it has a larger cache.

I'm running a Manchester core +4600 [512kb x 2 cache] @2618MHz i.e. 200 above stock with 1 GB DDR400 Ram @ 2-3-3-6. It's Edgy Eft via VMware set to use 500MB ram with Task Manager showing 189MB in use [could this be what is slowing me down or are you running native Linux?] CPU as stated is running @ +90% for this WU
