Just checked out that teaser site, them set pieces look awfully Tim Burton-esque that's put me off slightly, that isn't Sonic!

Sonic turned to **** when it became 3D, going back to 2D is a good move and hopefully will capture the old magic again

I hope this gives them the opportunity to slow Sonic down, and include some proper platforming parts, but the emphasis on 'speed' in the teaser doesn't give me a lot of hope.

I have my doubts too but this seems like Sega are just accepting all their 3d games were terrible and are going back to what sonic was back in the day.

This hopefully will be cool, though sega will likely throw in a gimmick to ruin it (werehog anyone?). Till then I'm gonna be play sonic and knuckles (out today on XBLA ) + sonic 3

No, but most of them were. All the latest ones on the PS3/360/Wii are horrible.
