New Sound card or not

I have my pc set up as a htpc gaming pc in my living room and use it as my next gen console and media player, the audio is connected to my arcam avr and I use the onboard dacs of the arcam to convert the optical when playing music from spotify etc, I then use the 7.1 on board analog audio for gaming. To be honest the analog is fine for gaming but I was wondering if getting a dedicated sound card would improve the digital output to my arcam. (I am guessing it wont at all, but have read one or two conflicting reports on the net, I know it shouldn't but things are never that simple :-) )

I think I have answered my own question but guess I would like some reassurance :-)

I guess its just the upgrade itch for new tech.

Your right lol.
I cant say for certain, but i dont think it will make a difference will it? I mean a sound card is effectivley a DAC but built in except it can do ADC too. Sorry not much help, maybe see what others have to say.

Thanks and no worries, I just want to make sure that the arcam is receiving the best input possible, probably is already but just checking.
