Lo all,

I've currently got an X-mystique, av amp and 5.1 speakers and I love the fact that DolbyDigital lights up on my amp. However, I'm starting to find that I'm not really happy with the sound quality, especially while gaming.

I'm considering going for an Xfi and connecting to my AV amp with the 3 x phono leads. If I do this will DVD's still work in DD if I play them through Nvidia DVD? I've come to the conclusion that music etc is better in stereo anyway.

Your thoughts?

Cheers

If you solely connect via analogue, then the sound card will decode the DD signal. You could connect using both types of connections to allow the amp to decode DVD movies.

The OEM card doesnt have coax or optical out though. So I guess I'd either have to get the expansion bay thing or something similar. Is the on board decoding any good?

Thanks for the fast reply
