Looking into getting the following:

Creative I-Trigue 2.1 L3800 Multimedia Speakers (Black) - Retail

or

Logitech Z-2300 THX® Certified 2.1 200 Watts Speakers - Retail

and

Creative X-Fi Xtreme Gamer Fatal1ty Professional 7.1 Soundcard - Retail

Looking to play music (using FLAC of course, I cannot stand MP3's) and gaming (Battlefield 2 and alike).

The soundcard MUST be the above unless there are known problems / issues with it that I may need to know of, please advise if you know of any.

The speaker system is flexible as to what I get, but I would like to stay < £100.

Many thanks, you help is much abliged.

I'd get the Logi's out of those speakers. Personally I chose Acoustic Energy over the Logi's.

Check them out http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=SP-000-AE&groupid=702&catid=22&subcat=

they wont disappoint.

Hm, the name rings a bell actually. I notice you have to have them running for a while to get the real experience. Do you know roughly how long for?

And also, how are these for gaming? Is there a difference between gaming speakers and music speakers? Or is it just the "overall" quality?

Thank you for your help.

EDIT: I have done some research and I think you may have swayed my mind there. Would it be possible to still answer my question on Gaming / Music speakers. If there is any difference? (I would assume this would just bast away the competition anyway)

I dont know a difference between music and gaming speakers. The Aego's sound great whatever you throw at them anyway.

Dont know about a running in period either, i think most speakers are really meant to be run in anyway, maybe to prolong thier life. tbh i dont think i read the instruction book.

I watched Matrix Revolutions last week and they made it a really good experience, i was blown away, certain deep bass noises actually rattle my entire front room.

Well, it looks like a thumbs up all round for these speakers. I think I have been tempted. Thank you for the help. My questions have been answerd.
