New soundcard for Vista

I cannot get drivers for my Hercules Muse 5.1 DVD, So I need another sound card for vista. must be 5.1 ofcourse, any recommendations ?

I need a new card as well.....looking for something with optical but all this vista driver problems is putting me off.......

All i can advise is to wait for march, creative is releasing official drivers then to remedy the problems with vista.

Sorry for tagging onto this thread but I read something about Vista not being compatible with EAX due to Vista not have some kind of layer built in or something

I'm not technical just wondered what this all meant?

I'll have to do some more digging

I think that relates to the Audigy Cards, i'm not sure if there are any known problems with the X-Fi Cards.

I don't intend moving to Vista until they can sort out the Driver support.

EDIT: There are new Creative Labs OpenAL Drivers out that support the Audigy in Vista.

There are beta drivers available for download on Creative's homepage for Vista but you'll be stuck with stereo or 2.1 audio in applications that don't make use of OpenAL. Plus none of the software apart from Media Source has been ported to Vista yet, though you do get the bog standard Audio Console though I can't confirm weather all three modes are working correctly.

Good news for X-Fi owners, Creative have released a beta of ALchemy, allowing full surround and EAX effects in certain direct sound games with an X-Fi card.
