Well my trusty Sennheiser HD590's have given up. As I am currently using on-board sound I guessed it would be a logical step to buy a decent soundcard and another set of headphones.

I play a lot of Counterstrike Source and I have been advised by a few people that I should get the following

Razer Barracuda HP-1 Gaming Headset
Razer Barracuda AC-1 Gaming 7.1 Soundcard

Is this a good choice/is anyone using this setup? Can anyone recommend something different?

dont do it, whoever told you that setup must be silly lol, had them myself, sold them 2nd day of owning them, the bass is none existant

go for xfi xtreme music and some sennheiser hd595's =]

razor headphones and soundcard lol, you must be absolutely out of your mind to buy them both, nevermind one. get an x-fi if you game and get some decent headphones, sennheisers and all of that shizzle

but when will people ever start listening to us mate ?
I'm listening. What's so good about them and have you compared them to the hd595's that is the popular choice round here?

Me too - superb headphones!!

I'm in the market for some new ones actually, was thinking of splashing out on some Audio Technica's ATH 900's which I've heard some good things about.

I got my A900's 2 days ago :D
So far loving them but haven't had enough time to test them fully or burn them in. Great sound, very detailed. Need to have a proper gaming session to comment on that side properly.

Got mine for £90 inc postage from japan via a popular US website.
