Hey guys,

Recently my Corsair SP2500 blew :(
From the lack of help from Corsair because of warranty not being in date it has turned me off buying a new pair. I loved these speakers A LOT! So trying to find a new set is hard because I'm a novice when it comes to sound. I got the SP2500 because of the amazing reviews.
I loved these speakers that much I feel like I'm not going to find nothing better haha.

My budget will be at least £200 and the system needs to be suitable for desktop PC. Anything similar to the SP2500 to be honest.

I mostly play games. In percentage wise 60% 20% 20% (games, music and movies)

I wanted a new monitor but now my money needs to go onto speakers haha

I don't think there are many 2.1 options available. I can understand the frustration that Corsair is not helping because of the SP2500 being out of warranty, but they chance it would be the case with any other companies as well.

The SP2500 is still probably the best 2.1 speakers available for gaming and movies at sub £200...but if you really don't want to buy another SP2500, I guess you could have a look at the Razer Leviathan instead?

Thats what I thought, there are not many options at all.
To be honest mate the warranty being out of date isn't the issue as I understand that, its the fact they did not offer any kind of help/solution or a small fee to repair them so I don't have to splash out on a full price set of speakers :(.
They literally said, "sorry they are out of warranty" basically 'get lost and buy them again'

I did look at the Razer Leviathan and it a bit 50/50

The thing is even if they did offer repair, it would not be cheap as labour is involved, plus the parts replacement that are may be require for repair. Like home appliances...unless the item is like over £500 in value, you'd be better off throwing the old away and buy a new one if it's out of warranty, due to the high cost for repair.

As for the CS literally said "Sorry they are out of warranty", I think it's understandable as if you put yourself in the staff's shoes who knows the policy, he knows there's no solution available that he can offer to you. They got enough customers within warranty to support as it is...he's not going to go out of his way to escalate the case, as he'd probably would be seen as not doing his job properly and that he's wasting time dealing with customers' whom the warranty has expired, when he should be serving customers that are within warranty instead. As much as I hate to say this, business is business.

Also I think Corsair has already discontinued the SP2500, so whatever you see still available in stores are probably the last of the stocks.

I suppose you are true. I'm just going to have to let it blow over and buy a new pair. The question is do I risk going for the same pair?
They lasted nearly 4 years (3 weeks time) and I don't think that's very long for a premium prices pair of speakers.

I don't think they have have been discontinued, they still sell them on their website and overlcockers have a constant stock of them

I was thinking about those speakers. Would love to give them a listen
I have BOTH the Corsair SP2500 and the Acoustic Energy Aego M 2.1, and if we were talking about purely for music, the Aego M 2.1 would be better than the SP2500...but for gaming and movie as well, I would say the SP2500 is a better all-rounder.

Thanks for the help marine, that helps me a lot as my speakers will be used as an all rounder.
Yesterday i heard klipsch 2.1 thx pro media speakers at a house party and I must say I was impressed by the sound but can't make out if the sp2500 are better. But price wise is very different.
APM mentioned getting a 5 year warranty? Does he mean finding speakers having 5 year warranty or buying new sp2500 and purchasing a 5 year warranty somehow?

Yeah sadly there aren't too many 2.1 solutions out there.

When I replaced my old Razker Mako 2.1 system I went with a 2.0 active/powered speaker system but missed the bass :( Luckily there was a sub out on these speakers so I was able to add a separate sub. Sadly, I'm thinking there isn't anything like that in your price range but I could be wrong!
