haven't got hold of my brother old yamaha ax592, and i borrowed his set of speakers. i have to amite the souns is a lot better that my old soundworks3500d. alass i have to give back the speakers :(

so what are good speakers, i am just look a good set of left and rights that can form a core of my new speaker set up. as i get more money i will plan to add more (sub and such) as well as maby upgrade the amp. but now now need really good core speakers

wouldn't really like to go over £300, tho if the spearer were good, i could possible go to £400

Are you planning on building a surround system 5/6/7.1 or just concentrating on getting a good stereo setup, and what sort of size room are they being used in, also are they going to sit on your desk or on some stands?

Wharfedale Diamond 9.1's are a pretty good little box, think you can pick them up for around £150/pair now, add some good quality bi-wire cables and a set of good stands and it would probably come to around £300-350ish.

Or if you are interested in looking at an active solution then I would highly recomend the new Genelec 8020/30A's depending on if you are prepared to spend a little bit more ;)
