got given 600 quid to "buy my own christmas present"

i have an OCZ 700W PSU, and a x1600 pro to see me through till R600 comes out.

Suggestions?

Oh and about CPU cooler, not too sure, a friend of mine says C2D doesnt really get that hot, so the stock should be enough to get it to 3Ghz, which is what I'll be aiming for

Bit over budget?

All I can say is...

CPU: E6300 OEM
Mobo: DS3
& HSF: AC Freezer 7

Cheaper & will overclock higher/better. Rest is good

nah, i get the 600 and i got a bit of my own dosh too, so budget isnt a problem.

You sure the DS3 will clock over the asus?

i ageree allwayu better to get a better cooler and *** arctic pro 7 is nice mid- high performance for little money.

and power ball

the 965 chipset is better for 2 mb conroe's so yes it'll clock higher, however i think the asus p5b clocks even better than the ds3, seen 3.8 ghz prime stable oc's on it ( upto 4.1 ghz stable to boot), while i have yet to see such a high stable oc on a gigabyte...

I'd go for the asus p5b instead...

cheers, yeah the P5W comes with a remote too :O, good for a lazy guy like me

and the powerball was actually the secret ingredient to a fast running pc, now the secret is out
