Hi, I'm in the market for a new PC and would like any suggestions on spec for a £1500 machine. The PC needs have maximum gaming performance, dual digital terrestrial tv card, ms vista ultimate with mce and a motherboard that supports both the R600 when it arrives and an Intel quad core. I'm happy if it doesn't have the quad core CPU at this stage if that money is better spent elsewhere in the system.

As I'm new to all of this, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Do you need monitor, keyboard, mouse or any other peripherals? If not this may be suitable, it is currently under budget so could be altered in a few areas but I probably wouldn't advise you to get quad-core just yet as it isn't utilised fully by much at all. Oh and I know nothing about TV Tuner cards so it is just one with dual tuners. :)

Excellent! I thought that may be the case regarding the quad board. And no, I don't need a monitor/keyboard/mouse. Thanks very much. If I was to spend any more, which components do you think would be best to upgrade?

Probably a second hard drive or perhaps a different case as although it fits the 8800GTX you have to move one of the drive bays, maybe some different Ram but from the little I know of Ram it uses good chips. :)

I went and sort of an ultimate spec. It has a top-end motherboard, 8800GTXes in SLi, and the same TV tuner Mr. Waster spec'd because I, too, know nothing of TV cards.

It's overbudget but is a killer spec. If you want to bring it under budget, cut it down to 1 GPU. I chose that case because I'm not fond of the P180, the Akasa Eclipse 62 doesn't come with fans, and the Antec 900 is far too tacky. Change it to suit your tastes.
