So im getting a new SSD as i stupidly bought a 60gb one, even with nothing but windows on it its getting pretty full.

when i get my new one iknow the process of re instaling windows on it ect ect

my quesiton is i have a 2tb harddrive aswell which as steam ect on it, would i have to reinstall everything on the harddriv, as my mate says that it might not work due to the registery not recognising it / or something on those lines.

anyone got any ideas? would i have to reinstall or just be fine installing the SSD?

I did a fresh install on my main drive, which is a SSD and left my steam+games on the other HDD and it all worked fine, so i think you should be ok

Not if you clone your existing ssd to your new one,it will be an exact copy of your original ssd and everything will work with your storage hdd

Use macrium reflect and tick the use all available space as your cloning

ok with that i hook up the new SSD with the old one still installed and conenct, then use that software ticking the use all availble space and it should be fine?

seems it didnt work :> i did as said but it created a partion of the same size as my current SSD, then why i treid to but the new SSD it came up saying windows not valid.

:/

yeah but tbh ive never used macroim reflect yet,ive only used paragon migrate but you have to pay for it

macrium should be the same in the cloning process it should ask you to make use of all avaliable space on your new ssd if you dont it will be a partition the same size as your original ssd

ill post up a guide later on
