Hi all,

Yesterday I got Disk read error message on start up...

Changed boot order so my ssd was first in bios, Issue fixed.

Until today same issue, except could not fix with putting SSD first boot.

Swapped sata cables around nothing. Swapped them back it worked....
Fitted new cable to SSD worked, then reboot and nothing.....

ChKDSK is fine.

Unhooked all sata drives, just connected SSD, same issue no boot, new cable, nothing.

Cleared cmos. Nothing.

Read a post about putting boot drive in the wrong order and problem fixed.
Rebooted and its held, SSD life says drive is all good. For now at least, one quick way to kill an evening.

So is the issue a faulty mobo, or SSD....
I considered a BIOS update (think im on 12) but do not want to touch it if I can help it.
Lists of parts in my sig!

Updating the BIOS would be wise, you are a few versions behind the current releases.

This was my initial gut reaction, then I went to the website and there was a passage on basically saying do this as a last resort.

made me think twice so came on here!

Done,

When I rebooted the pc I missed the screen to see which button for Q flash, and got the disk read error.

Rebooted flashed to f18 useing Qflash

Disk read error.

Re ordered boot drives and now working.

Just need another test, then the acid test of tomorrow morning.
