So ive put a new 256gb SSD into my computer to run my OS and a few games off installed windows 7 and all my drivers games and what not turned off the PC came to switch it on again and no im getting this error Reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key. The ssd is selected as first boot up drive

Anyone got any ideas what could have happend have i messed up someone while installing windows?

Edit: ive just selected to boot in windows boot manager after pressing f12 (gigabyte motherboard) and it boots from the ssd.

Thanks

do you have any USB device's connected to the PC like usb stick or external hard drive?

also make sure that the SSD is down as the first boot device and not set to either a old HDD or something else, this can be checked from the bios

when you installed windows 7 was the SSD the only drive connected at the time?

no other devices are attached and its set as the first drive and i had a hdd attached at the time as i was planning on using that as a drive to keep movies and music on so i dont use up space on my ssd

disconnect extra hard drive reboot to windows dvd/usb and fix the boot problems. it just needs to re write the boot partition on the new device.

disconnect the drive and run the repair option with just the ssd connected as sometimes windows installs stuff to the HDD as well which causes boot issues when not connected or having issues
