New Strider. Coming 2014.

Should I be surprised 'no-one' hasnt made a thread because of this article:

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2014-strider-next-gen-face-off

XO version > PS4 version

Kinda expect its a bug as all the other versions have AF, but right now the above is correct and once you know the difference you cant unsee it ;)

BTW has anyone tried both PS3 and PS4 demos to see the difference, surprised how obvious it was to me - didnt expect Strider to really push the consoles...

ps3ud0

When I looked on release I didn't see a demo for neither, unless I missed something

Deffo up on UK PSN for both, downloaded both a couple of days ago - look at the game page itself ;)...

PS4

PS3

Outland was made by Horsemarque ;) - Ill get Strider, Ill just wait for a sale...

I do get a sense that while there arent many games out for the new consoles people are buying games they wouldnt have in normal circumstances.

Exactly, it just illustrates how I missed out on potentially dozens of cult classics etc. Get rid of game review mags/sites and our collections would be much varied!

The game is a mix between the nes and megadrive/arcade games of old. Its very metroidvania, but it reminds me more of wonder 3 on the sms, where you have to get this power up to progress and it guides you to the next part of the game.

I'm four hours into it and just over 50% done. Which sounds about right as reviews are saying its about 8 hours to finish.

The achievement for finishing the game in under 4 hours is called speed run, I can see how its possible but your be missing out on lots of the power up and hidden bonuses.

I'm preferring this at the moment than replaying STON on the consoles, but two major yurks for me are the OTT particle affects and scaling in and out in some parts of the room, makes it hard to know wtf is happening at times.

glad I purchased it (on ps3) and I would give it 7/10 myself :)

Yeah I didn't do much exploring and took me ~3.5 hours to complete.

The ascent bit at the end was rough

How reflective of the final game is the demo? Just found it a bit soulless, might be because the demo seems to be from the first level/boss so he feels underpowered.

You pick up a lot more abilities later on and the 'element' changing thing or whatever on the sword was quite good although the fire one seems to dominate most parts.

I enjoyed it and was well worth the money, the fact I completed it was surprising as I generally don't with most games these days :p

I've got quite a lot of abilities now and the game definitely gets more fun the more you get.

given up on this buggy mess (ps3 version), I got myself to the 2nd to end boss (according to the trophies list) and managed to kill him as he killed me, as a result the game crashed to a weird black screen so I had to power off and on via the power button.

I've found that the game bugged out on me a few times, jumping in the walls and I was actually moving about within the walls . other weird sounds and graphics glitches.

Some how I have managed to get 100% in all zones, yet I'm still missing extras.

I'm going to stop playing this for a while; done close to 20 hours and save the 2nd to last boss and the last boss for a raining day; hopefully they fixed some of the bugs by then.

I change my rating to 6/10; even without the bugs. Worth paying when it goes on offer for a raining day.

Just to say this is on offer for PS3 or PS4 for around £6 if you have PS+ - ends tonight though!

EDIT: Damn actually its just lost the PS+ discount so is £7-something
