Totally not because I'm drunk but I think a drinking or drink sub forum would be quite popular. Existing drinks, new cocktails, bar reviews, discussions on licensing etc I think it would be quite interesting.

A lot of the population drink some sort of alcohol so why not? Brb, I'm gonna go dance, a good tune just came on :)
 
There are more discussion about Food than drinks here.

If anything, a Food & Drink forum makes more sense, the food threads, the coffee thread can go in there....although that's about it. I don't ever recall seeing a bar review or cocktail recipe on here.
 
The only way it could happen is if there is enough material, i.e. enough football threads to warrant a football sub-forum.

I can't see food & drink will have that kind of following.
 
Terrible idea.

Interest will be low because you won't get the anti-alcohol zealots interested (which is a surprisingly large percentage of GD'ers).

You won't care about what the students recommend, e.g. "20 pints for a quid in some crap Student Union, yay!"

Recommending chains is pointless as service and quality differ.

Recommending one-off pubs is pointless unless we all lived in the same town or city.

I'm not seeing it.
 
Food and Drink would be ok.

On the food front, If people title the thread "Cooking with..." it's easy enough to search anyway.
 
Please, please can we have a food and drink thread? At least a trial?

The front page of GD alone has 3 of these threads, it would be nice to have a place to keep everything together. Any general kitchen thread would go nicely in there too e.g. 'spec me knives' and a few posters might be nice enough to put together nutrition threads and the like.
 
I suggested this a few months ago, and so have others.
Its a good idea as lots of people are asking for it.
I cant see it happening though, maybe its too hard to add another sub forum ?
