New switch required

I have a 8 port switch conected to a Win2003 server. The ports are full and need to add a few more clients.

Rather than adding a second switch to the existing switch, i thought about replacing it with a 24 port switch.

Can anyone recommend a decent one?

Any special requirements or just more ports?

Upto £100.. and no- no specific requirements.

I was always under the impression that you couldn't run any more than 8 devices off one switch.. and I see 24 port switches available Not sure where I got that from tbh

I'm assuming that a managed switch is one that manages Level 2 data packets etc as opposed to just the physical layer?

Will I be able to just swap switches without any manual configuration?

Currently have a Corega GSW 8 port switch.

edit - actually.. I think that a 24 might be an overkill... is there a 16 port equivalent? GS716T?
