The switch on my Fractal Design ARC has gone dodgy,You press it normaly and nothing happens..press on it super hard system starts, but eventually i think this will break it.

Anyone recommend a replacement switch?...dont mind if i have to mod in a new switch at the top or something. ;)

If it's in warranty (2 years according to their website) get them to send you a replacement. Even if it isn't in warranty it'd be worth dropping them an email.

Hi mate,

Im sure ive had it over 2 years now,But yeah il throw them a message to see what they say, iirc its part of the front panel inside so would most likely be a new front panel.

I was just going to buy something like this,Drill a hole near the existing switch and put that it in.

Why don't you order from their spare parts store in Germany. They ship to the UK and have stock of most things. Granted you will need to buy the whole I/O panel but better than modding to fit an after market switch - http://www.fractal-design-shop.de/index.php?k=2

Nah id rather mod the current panel and fit a "Better" switch to be honest,The switch on my front panel has always looked dodgy from the day i got it not sitting flat in its place and slightly angled but now it takes about 20-30 clicks on the switch before it starts my system. :p

I was going to get one of those switches i posted above, and fit it where the red is on my pic here.

Can anyone confirm,Its a "Resistant Switch" i need correct?..that comes back up when you push it.

The 'resistant' refers to the fact that they're designed to be vandal resistant.

You want a 'Momentary Action' switch with a set of NO (Normally Open) contacts available. You need to be really careful that there'll be enough clearance before you start cutting anything. They need more space than you'd think from just looking at the pictures.

If you're capable of using a soldering iron I'd guess it wouldn't be very difficult replace the original switch. It's most likely a standard PCB mount that would cost a few pennies to buy.

'Momentary Action' switch,Okay...Il take the front off later and see how much room i have to play with,If i don't have enough to put it where i marked then il just cut a hole in one of my spare 5.25 drive bay panels and fit it in there as they're really think plastic and strong so it wont bent or give as i press the button...we will see.

I can and have a solder iron. :)
