I am thinking of upgrading my aging Shuttle to somthing a bit newer, just wanted to check whether the following would be a good choice, and if someone could recomend me a good motherboard to tie it all together with.

Antec Nine Hundred Case
Enermax Infiniti 650W PSU
Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 2.67GHz
Corsair 2GB DDR2 XMS2 Dominator DHX PC2-6400C4 TwinX (2x1GB)
Asus GeForce 8800 GTX HTDP 768MB GDDR3 HDTV/Dual DVI
Western Digital Caviar RE 250GB 2500YS SATA-II 16MB Cache (System Drive)
Western Digital Caviar RE2 500GB 5000YS SATA-II 16MB Cache (Data Drive)
Pioneer DVR-112DBK 18x18 DVD±RW Dual Layer ReWriter
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro CPU Cooler (Socket 775)
Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate 32-Bit Edition DVD - OEM

I don't really overclock my system, but could someone let me know what the stock fans are like in the Antec case - is it worth replacing them with some quieter temp. controlled ones?

Having massive ammounts of storage in the system is not so important to me as I have 1.5TB of Raid5 storage in a fileserver. I've not added a soundcard yet either as I was planning on just using the digital output of the motherboard into my external system (Needs to have SPDIF Out).

I would switch the hard drives to WD AAKS - newer technology and a few pounds cheaper. I have 2 of the 500GB version and they are quiet and perform very well.

Also get the Corsair HX 520 - its cheaper, reliable - save some cash.

Finally do you really need the Ultimate Edition of Vista? The Home Premium should be enough for most needs.

As for motherboards either the Gigabyte DS3 or Asus P5B.

I just ordered parts for a PC to similar money you have to spend.

I got the Gigabyte Mobo as suggested by other people.
I got the E6600 CPU, good for overclocking, not that I really do it, but its there incase!
I got the asaka Eclipse case, because people said it was great for air cooling!
Also got the Corsair PSU as it was rated well by people.

Specced! :D

If you want the 4gb of ram then go for this http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-128-CS

I don't think its worth it however + the ram in this spec is much faster :)
