Pretty new to this forum and custom systems in general.

So the main use of new system will be for playing online poker but I would like it to be capapble of more, I watch a lot of videos and downlaod a decent amount each month. Also will play games occasionally too.

I don't need an OS, but will need everyhting else from cables, cooling fans and a decent case.

Any help would be appreciated. Budget is like £500 max

Anything worth keeping?

lol, thanks guys

althoguh all these sandy bridge threads make me feel like adding another £100 to the budget :p

In my opinion its worth it.

The i5 2500K will beat any of the suggested CPUs above and even beat current high-end ones like the i7 950.

Not to mention the overclockability.

The i5 2500K can get to 4.0Ghz without breaking a sweat and 4.0+ Ghz is very very easy as well. And at those speeds it will come very very close to the i7 980X.

This is what you can get for 100 quid more.

My retail copy of W7 Home Premium which I pre-ordered for £30 seems to just keep on activating - I wouldn't be fussed if the old installs stopped working, as they are obsolete, but they seem to still work just fine.
