Hi all..

My first post here... so give me a chance ! ...

Right,

I'm after a new core2duo system and have been looking at the following.

E6400 / E6600

Asus Striker / MSI P6N 680I

2x1gb OCZ ram..

Basically.. i'm after a good value system / bang for my buck...

The price of the Striker mobo scares the hell out of me (i've never paid more than about 70ish quid before now.)

Ideally i would like to be able to get a bit more out of the core2 chip, but also need a decent level of stability..

It would be being added to my existing system (well, rather i've got a 7800GT and a couple of Sata / IDE drives i'd be adding in, with an "Atrix" 500w PSU.)

Advice / suggestions please..

got around the £500 mark to spend in total (if needs be, but that would need to include Case and PSU)

Cheers
Sly

Go for the gigabyte ds3 and 6400 combo the 680i boards are way overpriced
you'll get a great stable overclock with a ds3.
Ds3 6400 and tuniq tower for the win.

You can get the processor for £176 e6600
2gb gb geil ram £111
Abit AW9D motherboard with dual graphics if you want for £100

then its up to you what extras you want

if you decide to go with the 680i the asus p5ne32 sli would be abit cheaper, same board as the striker without the silly diagnostics lights, avoid msi theyre customer support is terrible only released 2 bios updates for the board i got and both were rubbish
