while my budget is still flexable, i'm up towards my upper limit (throwing in another gpu would blow my budget out of the water for instance).

main points of concern

graphix card, is this overkill? would i take much of a performance hit dropping to the 5870/50 cards.

secondly, is there a real difference between all the 5970 cards, is it really justified to buy a more expensive 5970 card over the cheaper ones?

Motherboard,

how does this compare to the gigabyte (ud37 and ud5).

I also like the idea of a dedicated sound card, what would be a good option card and interface to use ( i may want to try running 2 gpu's in the future and don't want to restrict this).

thanks for any help

ok, i bought this system, with the gigabyte ud3 mb and a different brand of ram OCZ.

I can get the system to post, and then load the windows 7 install disk however, i cannot get the system to find the SSD. i'm using the hot swap boxes and my 1tb hard drive is found in all 4 swap boxes so there all working.

Ive even tried plugging a sata cable direct from the mb to the ssd (with power also connected) and its still not found.

I can get another comp to find the sata drive via usb so the drives not totally bust.

any advice on how to get the SSD working?
