Is the MSI Mag a reliable motherboard?

It is hard for anyone to say if they have any problems, since they're so new, but MSI sold a lot of tomahawks since B450 and I don't recall seeing posts from anyone complaining their board died (and there would be a lot, given they were one of the most popular boards for a long time).

Would suggest you go with a K model if it isn't too expensive, never know when the IGP might come in handy.

The ram is a bit slow, any reason for that choice?

Hi. Thank you for coming back. I have changed CPU to k. What speed ram would you suggest.
Regarding Cooling is the Kraken X53 a good choice? or would the Z73 run cooler or just overkill.
Still trying to decide on the case. Is the Lian Li PC-O11 Dynamic Midi-Tower any good

Thank you

In this video, it matters less than AMD and should be even less important at 1440p, but given the difference in price, I think I'd buy at least 5600 C36, though you can get 6000 kits for around £150 (or less) now, like this (6000 C32) one.

I don't know anything about this case (THG review, Gamers Nexus review).

I don't know much about this cooler, but I read this review and they don't seem impressed.

"The Kraken X53 is in no way what we would call a "high-performance" or associate with "incredible performance" as the box plainly states. At default levels, it fairs OK, but that's it, just OK! Once we overclocked the CPU, the X53 failed to keep up with the performance, and pushing nearly 700 RPM more airflow into the radiator delivers such a small amount of performance it isn't worth the effort of changing fan settings in your BIOS."

Unless I'm reading the results wrong, it also got beaten (at least, the 240 version did) by high-end air coolers like the Noctua DH15 and Dark Rock Pro 4.

I'd imagine if you're willing to run the 13700K power limited, or only when gaming, then it should still be fine.
