My war commander system came today!

New system in, old one out.

Problem is: I get "no signal" messages to my monitors so I cant install windows? Tries hdmi and dvi connections. I have plugged the gfx in with the pcie power connectors. I have tried the ports on the motherboard and graphics card. As the title says, am I being thick?

Do you get any bios beeps you can diagnose?

Monitor plugged in switched on? Does it still work with another PC/source?

What exactly happens when you switch on? Fans turn PSU fire up - lights!

I guess unplug the graphics card, reseat memory, plug in power cables again see if it makes a difference.

There is a guide for system check here too

No BIOS beeps. Fans kick in and the drive then nothing. Single red light on the motherboard. Tried the monitor via vga and nothing. If I reset the BIOS I lose all the overclocking? I can't see anything to save or write down settings.

Well still no luck. Tried all means I can think of. I'm not going to reset the motherboard as it was premade so why should I have to really?

Sent a message to Overclockers direct last night and no reply as of yet.

Has the mb got a speaker? If not you can plug one in if you have any spares lying around? Any update?

It has a speaker as far as I know. Where it says it is in the manual and it looks like its there attached to the board so I am guessing so. Still no good for me I'm afraid. I give up with it now in all honesty as it does nothing.

Ok i did have a reply from OC directly, I am just blind. I went fishing all day and the wind was cold.. my eyes are slow ;) Got a few things to try. Update soon.

Ok reseated the GFX as suggested and removed the CMOS battery for a few mins and stuck it back. Removed a RAM module and turned it on... hope was there. and still nothing. stumped!

What gpu are you using?

Could you try another pcie slot for the gpu, just to rule out a fault on the first slot.

In your first post mention "monitors", have you tried using just one monitor to start with?

Radeon 6950, its the ICE one that comes as an option with the war commander system. I have tried dual monitors and single. Just can't see anything just keep getting no signal messgaes if I use the graphics card or the onboard graphics. Also no bios beeps as I say so its not even although its doing anything?

Only other thing i can think of is a bios setting for what gpu to use.

If it's set to onboard, it may not work with 6950 installed, also the the 6950 may not work if it is set to onboard. (hope that makes sense).

Makes perfect sense Freddie64.

But I have tried the HDMI and VGA onboard, and DVI and HDMI on the graphics card and I cant get a thing. I guess its waiting for a connection to be made to boot maybe? doing a typical "press f1 to continue" thing even though you cant.

As it was a pre-built system it should work perfectly after you fitted the graphics card.

I'm sure you'd like to get it working but you shouldn't have to mess around with it.

Whatever OcUK have told you to try hasn't worked so take advantage of the warranty it comes with:

Service Package
- Full 12 Month collect and return warranty
- Each specification is assembled from handpicked components for compatibility and stability
- Telephone, web note and forum technical support

you dont need the hassle, ring ocuk and get it sent back as it does sound like its doa unless its your monitor or dvi cable. Sometimes things dont work when u get them but thats rare.

Well I know my monitor and cables work A'ok on this pc which I am using now with two screens. Also works on a TV I tried to use. I will wait for their reply and request that on the warrenty then.
