Hi guys

Planning on my first system build in about 8 years, so way out of touch. Could you let me know if you see any problems with this build, will be used for gaming and photoshop.

Gigabyte Aorus Ultra Gaming Z370
Intel i5-8600K
T-Force Dark DDR4 3200MHz
Noctua NH-U12S CPU Cooler
Fractal Design Define R5 Blackout Edition

Keeping exsisting 240Mb SSD, 1.5Tb HDD, MSI 780GTX GPU, OCZ Stealth 600W PSU

Thanks in advance
Mark

As above. Just wondering if 8GB or 16GB RAM and if you saw this offer:

My basket at Overclockers UK:

As it's currently same price as the 16GB T-Force:

Thanks everyone, Danny75 it is the 2x8Gb bottom set I was going for, would the 3866MHz kit make any difference at all? Although it does look smarter

Makes such a small difference you would never notice it in games.

But its the same price as the 3200Mhz one above.

3000MHz is usually the most common spec'd as the gains going higher dont justify the extra ££

Could I ask one more question, should I go for the above spec or go Ryzen as the CPU looks better with the 8 cores and 16 threads

Gigabyte Aorus GA-AX370-Gaming K7
AMD Ryzen 7 Eight Core 1700 3.70GHz
Team Group Dark Pro "8Pack Edition" 16GB (2x8GB) 3200MHz
Fractal Design Define R5 Midi Tower Case - Blackout Edition Window

Still keeping the same parts as original post.

Thanks again
Mark

I have the above board that @stulid has said and find it to be really good, not only that ou have a rep in forums for extra support.
im running a ryzen 5 1600 and dark pro 3200 on mine and to say it cops with shadow of war fine aswell as other bits n bobs

If your gaming only , would push the Intel 8400/8600k . It's faster .
8 Pack ram is great , can get the timings lower if you feel like a play . If your able to push ram to 4000hz along with high CPU Cashe speed then you will gain some frames .
Ryzen is great value for money , specially the Gaming 3 on 25% off !
Also depends if your game prefer more threads or clock speed

I have both platforms for friends and doing a bit of testing :)

Thanks for all the info, the Ryzen 7 1700 does come with the AMD Wraith Spire cooler so that should save £50 on the Noctua.

Sorry to ask more questions but what's the difference between the Gigabyte Aorus Gaming 5 and the K5?
