Any intention to go sli at some point? 1000w psu is overkill for one card. Also, what resolution monitor, titan x is a pretty expensive card and depending on the res a 980ti would cope grand. Do you also have a cpu cooler that you can transfer over.

Currently resolution is 2 x 1920x1080.

But I will be upgrading to 2 x 3840x2160's next month.

No plan to go SLI currently dependent on game experience i suppose.

Thats one thing i forgot to add the CPU Cooler, see this is why you ask the forum. Any suggestions?

My reasoning for the Titan X was, i don't upgrade every year rather every 3-4 years so something future proofed is ideal for me. But i can be persuaded.

980TI has been shown to perform just as well as a titan X and notice you'll be using it for gaming, it's based on the same GM200 GPU as the titan but has a lower amount of vram. I can't see 12gb vram being utilised well enough as most things hit the 4-6gb..go with Lee's build and with the budget SLI two 980ti's, will destroy.

EDIT: example of 980ti performing better than titan x in gaming: http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Gigabyte/GTX_980_Ti_G1_Gaming/30.html

That's comparing a factory OC'd 980ti with a stock Titan-X.

Are you really seeing CPU bottlenecks in your games? You may well be best off just buying a GPU and a SSD.

As you are going 4K, you are wise to not go for a 980 Ti, especially as you mention Skyrim, which I assume you will run heavily modded with high resolution textures. But even a Titan X is insufficient to run the latest games with max settings - two work just fine though. That said, a single Titan X will run all the previous generations of games at 4K. And high-dpi 4K monitors lessen the need for AA.

So buy your Titan X and SSD now but expect to buy a second Titan X next year, at which time you'll have to upgrade your motherboard as the ASUS P8P67LE does not support SLI.

Okay reverted back to the 980Ti , definitely the better choice the reviews are giving basically identical performance on many of the games i play so makes more sense and economically better sense to me.

Appreciate it guys.

Enjoy :), i ended up spending 1200 on lots of new bits + monitor yesterday...thanks overclocker sales :)..may i ask which 980ti you went with in the end?
