My mobo decided to pack up on me last night so its time for a new build after a few years. I used to have a E6600 chip & 8800 GTS and I was asking for too much from them (encoding my dvd collection, gaming, music etc.)
Im thinking about going to AMD as they have the 6 core chip.
I already have a 1tb Samsung F3 hard drive and a case/monitor so its just the core items that need replacing.
What do you think?
Chip:
AMD Phenom II X6 Six Core 1090T Black Edition 3.20GHz (Socket AM3) - Retail
Mobo:
Asus Crosshair IV Formula AMD 890FX (Socket AM3) DDR3 Motherboard
RAM:
OCZ Reaper Low-Latency 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 12800C6 (1600MHz) Dual-Channel (OCZ3RPR1600C6LV4GK)
(OR)
G.Skill RipJaw 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-10666C9 1333MHz Dual Channel Kit
Graphics:
Asus ATI Radeon HD 5870 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (Rev. 2)
Is there anything different that will be better bang for buck or anything a few more pennies that'll enhance the performance?
