OK I have built systems for the last 20+ yrs, so I am reasonable at it.

I have been looking for a decent Slimline case.
I found this one a while ago.
Silverstone LaScala LC19R Slimline HTPC Case
Now I understand I can fit this
Asus P8Z77-I Deluxe and an IvyBridge 3570/3770 with 8gb of Ram/
Will have a NAS box on my network for main storage so can runa small 2.5HD

I would like a reasonable Video card, nothing too over the top.
I have 3 main questions.
1. What PSU is recommended as I haven't dealt with these Slimline cases before.
2. As the case comes with a Riser card with 90 degree angle to fit the graphics card would this work with most if not all cards?
3. Now here is the main crux... If I have a 90 degree graphics card covering over the board, this will cover the CPU area? What cooling would fit on the cpu that wouldnt Interfere with the graphics card. I mean something must fit else they wouldnt put the riser card in and the slot on the rear of the unit? Could I fit a water block unit?

Thanks for Listening, I am not going for extreme overclocking just a slimline gaming rig. Appreciate any Ideas.

  1. It appears to include a fanless 150W DC/DC PSU and an external power brick. I can’t see anywhere to fit an alternative.
  2. The PCI is a single slot which will limit graphic card choice (as will the 150W PSU).
  3. The riser card positions the card away from the CPU.
That motherboard looks to have a very tall riser on one edge that could be an issue with such a slim case.

Appreciate the quick response.
Suppose I might just have to go for something bigger unless I use on board graphics! :(
I could always use the following case Instead but just nothing like in the slim department.
OrigenAE S10V Micro-ATX HTPC Case or
BitFenix Prodigy mini ITX Cube Case
