i currently have a 6850 , but i was thinking about xfire in the near future.

Does anyone no when ocuk will have more stock of the 2400 and 2500 i5 ?

AMD happened, thats what.

I picked the right time to buy, ouch. £285 for a 2500k, motherboard and 16GB.

The board specced supports Crossfire, although the second slot is only 4x speed it shouldn't inhibit them too much.

No idea, but you should keep in mind that the non K variants don't overclock.

Even on stock cooling you should be able to clock a 2500k to 4ghz with ease, making them considerably faster. Also, you can still get them for sub £150 (OEM) which frees up £50 for a decent cooler.

That Ram is a bit naff, 10-10-10 timings is like the stone age.

I know the Sandybridge Ram guides say "modest timings" but not prehistoric timings:p

so the non K i5's dont overclock ? meh i think il hang on till next week unless i can find one online.

Doesn't seem to affect my performance compared to other systems, and it's low profile so no cooler issues. XMP sets everything spot on even the voltage @ 1.5v :D

Plus I only paid £33 for it :)

Ok if i change the budget to £400 could an i7 build be done ?

i have a brand new arctic cooler 7 for the cpu so dont need a cpu cooler in the price.
