Excluding F1 the average difference is about 6.2%, that's using faster cards which are more likely to saturate the PCI-e bus.

Yes, but for gaming I wouldn't bother with the i7.

im just weighing up my options atm, ive found an i7 2600k retail for £225 online or the i5 2500k for £167.

i would ideally like an asus board as they have allways been spot, is the p67 sabertooth worth a look ? seems like a decent board.
