Sorry for the newbie kind of questions, it's pretty much the first build I've done since my last P4/ATI Radeon 9700 pro combo (a lot seems to have changed since then)

I built a new workstation a couple of weeks ago to replace my video/graphics editing/rendering machine (with the side intention of playing a few of the newer games)

The Specs of this are:

  • Corsair Obsidian 900D
  • Intel Core i7 3930k
  • 8 x 8GB Kingston 1866Mhz DDR3 (64GB)
  • 2 x Asus NVIDIA GTX Titan (one is still in it's box, as haven't had time to install)
  • ASUS Rampage Extreme IV mainboard
  • Corsair Hydro H100i CPU cooler - everything else is stock cooling
  • 2 x Corsair Force GS 180 GB SSD's (in RAID 0)
  • Corsair AX1200i PSU
  • 3 x Seagate 3TB 7200RPM & additional RAID controller (not installed yet)

At the moment, everything is running stock (e.g. no overclocking) BIOS is set to optimized defaults etc... (I am tempted to water cool the lot at a later date, mainly as I dislike noise & am planning on moving to a hotter country)

Out of curiosity I've was playing with PCMark 11 last night & am unsure if the the new box is running as it should.

Typically I've been getting an average PCmark score of 12282 (give or take a few), does this sound correct? (In all fairness I've got no like for like benchmark to compare with)

Is there anything obvious in the above specification that would hinder the performance? Are there any tips & tricks that I may have missed

Once again apologies about the newbie questions :)
