Hi, upgrading from DFI nf4 / AMD X2 / 2GB to Asus P5KC / C2D / 2GB OCZ.

If I uninstall the chipset drivers / any other drivers dependent on my current components, then plug my HD into the new build, will I get away without having to do a full install of Windows XP? If not, is there anyway of minimising disruption, for instance, all my games are installed on a different partition.... I just want to keep my system going until next week when I do a full reformat and installation!!

Thanks in advance.

I went from a 939/nvidia setup to a C2D/ATI setup without reinstalling windows.. just uninstall all drivers, and use drivercleanerpro to make sure all traces are cleaned, then install new drivers after a reboot :)

Cool, all sorted :)

Uninstalled drivers, got the nag about hardware changes, need to activate within 3 days.

Installed new system, nag changed to cannot log on until windows has been activated.

Had to phone the freephone number and type the numbers in etc.... good job I have legit copy of XP Home :P
