Not decided on a case, keyboard, mouse and monitor yet but what do you think to the above? suitable for modern games and software?

Thanks in advance.

that looks pretty good, those motherboard and processors are a favourite amoungst overclockers and seem to be pretty decent. although i've read a few bad reviews regarding the Crucial Ballistix memory and people having problems with it due to its high frequency i believe. Would suggest maybe looking at some Corsair memory, as its usually really decent stuff.

and regarding the tuniq tower, it stands quite tall if i remember. so make sure your case isn't too small to accomodate it mate. ;)

ps. correct me if i'm wrong. :)

Welcome to the forums, firstly and perhaps most importantly I'd change the hard drive to a SATA model - this one is the same but in SATA form because the cables are neater, modern motherboards only have 1x IDE port now and they have a higher burst speed albeit it won't make a huge amount of overall difference.

The Ram is rather overkill, any decent PC6400 will be more than sufficient even if you want to overclock, for about £10 more you could get 4gb Corsair XMS2 which will help for large files. Not to mention you'd probably have a problem trying to get the PC8500 to boot on the IP35 Pro because it defaults to 1.8v and the Ram needs 2.2v.

The Tuniq Tower is rather expensive at the moment, if you aren't going to be overclocking much then something like the Arctic Freezer 7 Pro is easily good enough and will allow overclocking as well. You might also want to consider the Q6600 guaranteed to 3ghz since it is cheaper at the moment than the ordinary retail Q6600 (it is exactly the same CPU).

As for case and PSU it rather depends on your budget. If you don't have too much cash then take a look at the Antec Sonata III as it comes with a decent 500w PSU for ~£70 total.
