New System instability

Hi,

Ive recently built:-

Q9550
4 gig Corsair
Asus Rampage
ATI 4870x2

all at stock

every few hours when gaming it will just freeze up....my cpu temps are fine (40oC full load) and my mobo temp is stuck at 56oC.

my gfx card is running at 72oC full load at the time of the crash too.

im a bit puzzled as to what it is....im thinking i might have a memory problem.

any ideas?

Have you checked Event Viewer for any errors in logs?

Memtest would be one tool but requires running for long time.
Intel Burn Test is probably fastest tool for finding instability:

ok ill give it a try....im thinking if i do have a problem its either with my memory or my gfx.

I have a video card which overheats and causes the same problem. Swapped the video card and fixed the problem so that may well be the issue for you aswell. If you have a spare graphics card, I'd recommend swapping that and see what happens.
