So I have taken the plunge and retired the long sweated 8700k and bought an x570 and 5900x AMD system.

I do like a good overclock having ran my 8700k at 5.4ghz on water for the best part of 4 years.... and I believe to get the most out of zen 3 you need good ram.

So I have 16gb of g skill 3000mhz cl15 from my intel system, ... So question is should I keep on using that.... Or sell it and buy some 3600mhz cl16 ? (I see cl14 is even sillier money) something like g skill neo.

Thanks. My current kit is g.skill trident z RGB... It did OC to 3200mhz cl15 on my intel system...but I had to reduce to he cpu OC to 5.2 GHz from 5.4ghz for stability. I game and record / produce music on a 3440*1440p ultra wide with a 3090. I can grab another identical set of 2*8gb trident z sticks and know it will boost perf for £100... Where as buying 32gb of decent cl16 will cost £300... RAM is so damn expensive... I'm struggling to see if I'm going to get a benefit for that extra cash. I'm more worried about the impact on CPU overclocking tho ..but I heard most 5900x oc about the same?

I might just see if I can get my existing kit to 3200 cl14 manually and if so...grab another 16gb of same stuff ..and save myself a stack
