Hi all:

I'm gonna order some stuff (basicly a whole PC, not just tower), would appreciate crits. Also im getting it with updating to dx10 cards later on in mind, also getting a "lower end" cpu to upgrade later to dual core (mobo supports it). Here's the rig:

- Hyunday imagequest 17" 8ms
- Enermax CS-527 Black + Ultra-X PSU 500W atx2.0 + 2 Akasa Blu led fans (2500rpm)
- Sapphire Pure Advantage "crossfire edition" Radeon xpress 200.
- Athlon64 +3500 retail + Akasa ak-855-BL CPU cooler
- Crucial 1GB DDR Pc3200 cas3 (two of em)
- Radeon X850XT PCI-X (powercolor)
- Sony DVD and combi rw
- Saitek PZ30AU
- Diamondback plasma + Steelpad S&S
- Icemat Siberia Headset black
- WinXP home SP2 (waiting for Vista)
- Norton Internet Suite 2006

Wont be amazing, but for £1000 it isnt bad :D

Thanx in advance :)

Thanx, i thought that. Seems like OCuK ara amazing in price comparisons. Was living in spain, and for some reason u can find systems similar to those for £850, but if you check PCWorld or anything similar we talking £1500

Also was kinda wary about posting that "2nd class" pc on here, most of the setups inlcude x1900XT's ;)

Don't sweat it bru. There's none of that crap on here. Everyone here appericates what the other has and there no, "Ha your pc is crap, go away" We're all friendly, well most! :p

And anyway, pc hardware changes all the time, it's hard to keep up, bru!

My system:

AMD 64 3400+
ATi X800XT 256MB,
Shuttle SN85G4 V2,
Hitachi 160Gb Sata Hdd,
1Gb PC3200 ram,
MX1000 mouse,
LG L1780U Screen,
MS Keyboard.

Now by todays standards, that pc is okay. But there's much better. My X800XT was top of the line card for about two weeks I think! lol

Enjoy your say here. ;)

Yep, all looks good.
The X850XT is £114.95 +VAT. Which is a great price.

But for just £159.95 +VAT.
You can get the fair bit faster HIS Excalibur ATI Radeon X1800 XL 256MB.

Cheers aceshigh but i think you're wrong, i've been researching into those two and comparing:
The X1800XL is slower than the x850XT, check the specs. Also is slower on FPS side for up to Dx 9.0b games. Even the fill rate is lower (35GB/s against 35.8GB/s). It's just a different generation card, but it is the lowest model of x1800 GPU (XT is high end on ati, XL is low). And a couple Dx effects isnt worth the difference :)

About the drives: hmm might do, just gotta find 2 of the same to make the case look cool. 2 nice black ones :D
