Hi all,

Ive just completed building my new system (or so i thought) when on first boot up absolutely nothing happened, PSU doesnt come on, no beeps, no fans come on and no output on the screen. The only thing that comes on the the Green Power LED on the motherboard.

What i have done thus far is to strip everyting down to just the Motherboard(has on board graphics), one stick of RAM, the CPU and PSU, all of which has been removed from the case. THe PSU works ok as that has been tried in a different system. The memory i have tried in every Slot and have also tied clearing the CMOS but still no joy.

The spec is as follows:
Intel Core 2 Duo 6600
ASUS P5B-VM
G SKILL 6400 HZ
EVGA 7900 GT
OCZ 520w PSU
SUGO SG01 Case

I am now completely out of ideas as to what to do next so any advice would be apreciated. Needless to say im a little bit annoyed as it has taken a long time to get the motherboard only to find out it may be boned

Yep all the power connectors are in and the button were connect to the right pins - Just to be sure i shorted the pins with a screwdriver and still wouldnt boot.

Not what i wanted to hear but your probaby right. I was thinking it may be a memory issue as with a bit of googling there have been issues with 2.0 - 2.1V memory as apparently this MB can only support 1.95V. But as it does nothing with no memory i think i was just in denial. So looks like my only option is to RMA it :( Thanks for the advice though

Yeah, even without components on the board I think at minimum when you short the power pins then the PSU should at least spin up and the board will start beeping. :(
