Morning folks,

Last night assembled the core bits of a new machine with the below components. System will boot when the case power switch is on, won't make any sounds but then reboot continuously after a few seconds.

Intel Core i7-9700K 3.6GHz (Coffee Lake) Socket LGA1151
Asus ROG Strix H370-F Gaming Intel H370 (Socket 1151)
Corsair RMx Series RMx750 750W '80 Plus Gold' Modular Power Supply
Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 PC4-29200C18 3600MHz

I did read somewhere about the H chipsets requiring an update to be able to run the 9th Generation Intel CPU's, but the machine will not stay on long enough for me to do anything. There is no display output from either the GPU or the motherboard HDMI.

I'm not sure how it's done with Intel but AMD requires you to have the latest BIOS using a USB to flash the BIOS

You wont be able to boot the motherboard to do the update without an 8th gen chip.

Some motherboards have the ability to update from USB without a CPU but most don't. I know MSI boards on AM4 chipsets can usually do it.

Not guaranteeing this is your issue but it does sound like you'll need to borrow a chip or ask the retailer/board maker to do an update.

Can you check the BIOS version on the mobo box? Compare that to the version which introduces 9th gen CPU support.
