After much reading of this forum as a lurker, I bought all the kit from Overclockers and built my 1st PC. The the buying experience was excellent (3 days from order to delivery in the North of Scotland). The PC is running well and I wanted to record what I bought, to help newbies like myself know what actually worked.
Case: Lian-Li PC-60 PLUS
CPU: Intel Core 2 DUO LGA775 E6600
MBD: Asus P5B Deluxe
RAM:2GB GeIL PC2-6400C4 DDR2 Dual Channel Kit
PSU: Seasonic M12 Modular 500W
HD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 320GB
DVD: Plextor PX-760A 18x18 Dual Layer DVD±RW
Floppy: Sony Floppy Drive
I used a graphic card I had already:
BFG Tech nVidia 7900 GT OC
It fired up with no problems and has been a stable system. It's not silent, but is quieter than my Evesham Axis and much cooler.
Thanks to all the forum contributers in the many great threads and to Overclockers for their efficiency. Oh and I can reccommend the book 'Build your own Computer' by Kyle MacRae
