New system required - not into overclocking it

Hi all,

Well I think I'm going to retire my X4200+ based SFF system and try to build something similar with a bit more power. I'm totally clueless these days really though so could do with a lot of help on spec.

I definately want a Lian-Li V350B case and I was considering the -

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 LGA775 'Wolfdale' 3.00GHz (1333FSB)

But thats just from reading good reviews, can someone spec me something out that would fit that case and be a nice all round gaming system? I know I didnt put a budget but thats because I'm not sure what I need and I'll throw cash at it till its perfect

What resolution will you be playing at?

If you're willing to throw cash, how about an i7 system? Could you give a rough estimate for a budget?

Thats a good question, 1680 x 1050 resolution and I'm steering away from i7 due to heat issues and the choice of case. I'm a minimalist case user.

I have a HDD and DL dvd already so around £700 for everything else for starters? Going up as required
