New system - what tests before and after installing Windows?

What tests should I run after I have built my PC and updated the motherboard BIOS but before I install Windows? What tests should I run after installing Windows?

I remember running memtest back in the day. Is that still a thing? Anything else?

memtest86 or memtest64
then a full run of realbench (16h)

you could substitute realbench for aida64 system stability test if you wanted a more abnormal load

I'd do the kind of things you normally do with hwinfo or hwmonitor open, just to check temps are fine.

memtest before windows and realbench after, right? Never used realbench (have been using Mac for years) and from screenshots it looks like a Windows app.

memtest86 can be used before windows is intstalled - will need a usb drive to install to

Never bothered to test a new pc, fire up my favourite game and enjoy it, only run tests if there's a problem.

First thing I ever do
After building
Straight in the bios and look at cpu temperature
If it isn't rising after a minute or two
I assume everything is fine with the cooler
As for memtest etc
I don't see the need unless you're seeing bluescreens
Or crashes
