New system...Which G-Card?

all you fools saying that the cpu is the bottle neck are just dumb. even a x1900xt running at 1900x1200 with 16xAA and 16x AF struggles and causes a bottleneck in games like FEAR and COD2.

get your facts straight before you say crap like card X bottlenecks CPU Y or vice versa.

best thing to do mate is to read reviews on different websites. HARDOCP is the best site for reviews because they will show you exactly how a card performs win the real world. and you will see that even the top end cards are not as powerful as people on here say they are.

The fact is without a fast enough processor top end cards will not work to their full potential.

High end cards require computers that won't cause limitation to the GPU.

A 2ghz x2 3800 would be the bottleneck.Simple as. :)

x1900 xtx 512mb - great choice

when you get the X2 4400+, you will have less concerns re bottlenecking & as said if you play games like FEAR, COD2 & upcoming games like Unreal tournament 2007 (any Unreal 3 engine game) you wil lbe sweet

Thanks for the reply Ace and Cyber, Yea i know, id still have a fast system with a X2 3800+ in it, just a few people where blabbing on how it will bottleneck it i opted out for buying the Cpu, im kinda waiting to see and deals on the 4400+, ive seen it for a nice-ish price and have been tempted...Although im just gona wait, im in no rush in all fairness...

One thing im worried about, i heard/read a rumour that Amd will be upping the price of the X2 cpu's at some point? but NOT the Fx chips...

Regards...

I don't think that offering advice on personal experience having owned a x2 3800 is ,as you put it blabbing.

The fact remains that cpu would bottleneck a high end card. This is not babbling this is fact.

Buying new hardware is all about research and gathering information.
And when people offer informed valid responses then you should not call this blabbing but take this information onboard and make informed choices and be thankful for the input.

....Erm i do thankyou :)

Blabbing is merely a word i used dude, dont take it to heart...People say itll be fine, others say itll suck, so i used that word for a figure of speech...

I do research stuff before i buy things, i go onto about 5 different hardware sites before work each morning :).

Plus, i wasent pointing any fingers :P And i know you've replied to some of my posts and im very thankful.
