first venture ever into intel territory and i've fallen at the first hurdle..... powering up - it won't!

what haven't i connected or what have i connected wrong?

system is:-
intel 2500k
XFX 450W P1-450S Core Edition 80+ Bronze
64GB Crucial M4 SSD S-ATA3 Solid State
Gigabyte Z68AP-D3
G skill 2133mhz DDR3

won't do anything - spin fans or anything. Like the PSU is duff.

anything obvious?
Tried realigning the Power button into the motherboard loads of times but nothing.

check the 4/8 and 24 pin power connector are fully plugged in
check that you have put the front power button in the right place on the front panel connector on the motherboard

if all else fails start removing parts leave 1 stick of memory take out you hard drive and graphics card out and try again

and if that fails take your motherboard out of the case and build it and try and power on then there may be a short if you having used the little stand off's in the wrong place

i'll try disconnecting the hard drive and leave out graphics card. cheers.

nada. 24 pin in - 4 pin in.

case - Can't figure out how.
Stand offs - yes.
Even took the motherboard out to double check and nothing.
Can't take it out as wires to case or psu not long enough.

Took everything out - plugged it into 500w ezcool and the case switch.

And the fan spun and light came on for a second. So the psu is duff.

Back to the crappy psu and return the xfx I guess.

Not sure if it is just the psu or the motherboard as well. Won't display a pic after taking psu and gfx card out of old pc. Put the psu and gfx card back into the old pc and it worked fine so are fine.

Never easy...

Plugged in 500w psu and motherboard lights up and CPU fan spins. Using 24 pin and 4 pin connectors. Using same connectors on xfx and nothing. 500w only has 1 SATA power connector though and I have SATA hdd, SSD drive and blu ray drive. Bugger.

Looks like duff psu?
