New System won't start

Just put the following together:

Motherboard – Asus P5N32-E SLi nForce 680
Processor – Intel Core 2 DUO E6600 2.40GHz
Memory – GeIL 2GB PC8500 1066MHz+ DDR2
Graphics – Gainward GF8800GTX 768Mb
PSU - Enermax 620W
Case – Lian Li PC-A10B

The system powers up and then turns off a second later. Attempting to start the system a second time results in no signals to the LED lights on the case, no signal to the monitors and a failure to post.

Turning the PSU off at the back, waiting 30 seconds and trying again results in the same process. Cleared CMOS - same happens.

Appreciate any thoughts..?

Check all connections to the motherboard are in place tight, also double check you got the 4pin plugged in by the processor.

Check screws on the motherboard are not shorting out to case.

Try running with one memory stick installed.

Thanks - tried the above in addition to changing the PSU (620W) and it still only powers up for a second before tripping out.

I'm unsure what else to try...

Many thanks for everyone's help. I removed the mobo from the case, only to find a screw had fallen down the back - the likely cause of the board cutting out I hope.

Thanks again for the suggestions.

Andy

Just an update for future reference if anyone else stumbles across this issue:

The problem was due to the Floppy Drive ribbon placed inverted on the drive. Fitted correctly, the system boots.
