I've had my current system for around 3 years now:

Athlon A64 3500+ (replacement for fried original)
Asus A8V Deluxe (replacement for fried original)
1GB OCZ 3700EB
HIS Radeon X1950 Pro (replacement - original system had a Radeon X800 XT PE)
Audigy 2 ZS
ViewSonic VP201b
74GB Raptor
160GB Deskstar
Plextor PX-712A
Antec TruePower 2.0 480W (replacement - original system had a NeoPower 480 that blew up and killed my original Mobo & CPU)
Lian-Li PC V1000

When I first bought it, it was reasonably high spec, but it seems like now is a good time bang-per-£ wise to upgrade. Latterly my rig has also suffered from a really annoying problem of crashing every so often despite it running at stock settings since I had to replace Mobo, CPU and PSU after my NeoPower blew up.

At the moment thinking of the following:

Intel Core 2 Duo E6750
Asus P5K Deluxe
2GB OCZ PC2-8500 Reaper Edition
BFG GeForce 8800 GTX 768MB (first ever Nvidia card for me!)
Creative X-Fi Xtreme Gamer
Antec P180

I am planning on keeping my existing monitor, HD's and DVD-R.

Questions:
  • is it worth waiting for one of the new 'energy efficient' Q6600 instead of the E6750?
  • is the Asus P5K / OCZ PC2-8500 a good combination overclocking wise?
  • will my existing 480W TruePower PSU be man enough for my system?
  • is the Antec P180 case dust proof? I love the Lian Li V1000 lookswise but it is a total dust magnet...
  • I need some suggestions on keyboard / mouse combo

Think the 8800GTX doesn't fit properly in the P180 (goes off to search). I'd keep the V1000 & invest in this :)

Meanwhile: What's the +12V RAIL rating on that PSU? IMO, its a shame not to get a better (500W+) PSU for that killer-spec ;)

EDIT: Regarding P180, see second post here.
