Just a quick question, do you really need DDR3? Its very expensive for the small gain in performance.

PSU wise you wont need anywhere near as much as that power, a corsair 650 would do that system fine

I dont really see the point in physics cards but thats my view. plus nvidea have just brought tham out so the GPU cards now support it so it seems abit of a waste of money in my view

If you really want to go with SLi then you need an 7X0i series motherboard, probably a 780i based one since it appears that budget is not a problem.

However I'd probably suggest going with a single 8800GTX at the moment because of the price and see how it works for you.

Other than that I'd agree with Kearney_1988.

DDR3 is not absolutely necessary, Just thought it was the way forward. I mainly play ut3 so was thinking that a physx card is the way to go. I am prepared to run 2 8800gtx cards but was informed that the end product was not as great as the gt's. I am also tempted to upgrade the cpu to Intel C2Q Q9300 'Yorkfield' 2.50GHz is this advisable? Also can any one comment on this board http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-271-AS&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=1057 I have read several mixed reviews. What do people think?

Can you give me a reason for not buying a physX card please? Also can I use an x48 mobo, I can't find any that are sli compliant only crossfire, or does that not matter and you can still use sli? Thanks Jon

x48 boards are crossfire only as semi-pro said earlier 7X0i series motherboard is probably one of the best options, the physics card is a bit of a waste really, as nvidea have now enabled their GPU cards to support physics i believe. Also the amount of games that make use of the physics cards are very few

NVIDIA own them so they will be using the tech on graphics cards.
