i decided to go with the ddr3 memory as a friend is going to sell me 4gb for £50. if anyone can spot a problem with the stuff i have selected i would appreciate it if they could let me know. also i should add i will be using my current dvd drives and i allready have Windows Vista Ultimate

A brilliant machine! maybe worth going for a 9800gx2 if your spending this kind of money! but that all depends on the screen you will be using..............? size? res?

i'd have a look at the PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750 Quad-SLi PCI-E 750W Power Supply if you're going to spend that much on a mobo might as well have a quality psu with it.

Welcome to the forums. Everything there is compatible as far as I'm aware, you might want to get an aftermarket cooler for overclocking though - it seems a shame to not use expensive parts to their potential.

The sentence above rather confused me though, is that for 4gb of DDR3? If so that is stupidly cheap even for mates rates, does it match the Corsair you've selected there? Do you really need/want 6gb (assuming it is DDR3 and 2x2gb sticks)?

thanks all for the replys. and sorry i should have been more clear it will have 4gb of Corsair 2GB DDR3 XMS3 i was using the above as a reference. and thanks for the advice about the psu, just read a few reviews and have decided to go with the PC Power & Cooling Silencer 750 Quad-SLi PCI-E 750W. as for the screen i will be using a Samsung SM-226BW 22

i will be overclocking so if you have some advice on cooling it would be a help, mite have to wait a few weeks though as im very near my cash limit

BTW will this be a gamming rig or multitasking ? also what size monitor you gonna be using

i will be using it for mainly gaming and video editing

Depending on what is in stock/what spare cash you have then I'd be looking at the Scythe Ninja (most difficult to fit but cheapest), Noctua NH-U12P and Tuniq Tower. The Tuniq Tower LFB has LEDs so might suit your case since it is windowed but that is up to you, the ordinary Tower is usually quite a bit cheaper though when in stock.

The Tuniq Tower will only just fit inside due to the side fan, so I would be wary of using any cooler taller than that (153mm). You could have course remove the fan, but it will obviously help keep your MB cool if you don't. I do however seem to remember reading about someone putting the side fan on the outside of the side panel, even the TRUE 120 would fit then.
