new system...

The one I specced you is quite a bit better - more powerful graphics card, faster hard drive and faster dvd drive. However the Titan Goliath comes with a custom cooler - the Akasa Nero. With that, you will have headroom to overclock quite a bit with it.

hmm ok so technically the titan is a rip off!!!

also i wondered if there is any risk in buying the ready made overclocked pc?

i assume it would have been built to cope with the overclocking?

does the overclocked processor decrease the life of the computer. i.e am i likley to start having issues after 1 - 2 years??

with this in mind would it be better for me to look for a pc with a standard clocked processor?

Thanks

I spec 'd the Titan Goliath last night before ordering, I calculated the components individually and it worked out that having the PC built via OcUK worked out £23.00.. that is a deal and a half.

I generally build all of my PC's, but on this occasion I thought it might be nice to just plug and play, particularly at that price.

..........so technically its not a rip off at all!!

No no no, certainly not a rip off. Like I said before, you are compromising a better card for a custom cooler for overclocking, you are merely putting your money elsewhere.

And btw, when I say the HDD and DVD are slower in the Goliath, only marginally - nothing you'd be bothered about :)

I bought a Goliath with a GTX275 in August, well built pc and very very fast.(i paid £954 for mine with OS and Antec 902 plus the GTX275 of course which was a nice deal.)

It's been absolutely stable too, zero crashes or bsods.

The cable management alone is top notch, try get a 5770 with the Goliath you order by calling them to add one since it will be more future proof.
