Hi this is my first post here I am looking into buying a new machine the spec I have so far is

ASUS P9X79 PRO or ASUS Sabertooth X79
Intel Core i7-3820
Corsair CMZ16GX3M4X2133C11R Vengeance Red 16GB
Corsair H80/H100 cooler
PSU - yet to be decided
Graphics - yet to be decided

and I was wondering do you think I should stick with the 2011 sandybridge-e chipset or go with the new ivybridge chipset.

I am also looking at getting an nvidia graphics card and was wondering what is the better option I am looking to spend around £300 on it I also want the system to be as quiet as possible but would rather have better performance then silence.

If anyone has any better suggestions for hardware let me know any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

John

Hi thanks for the help so far will take a look at the suggestions, the main uses for the computer are a bit of everything in all honesty mainly gaming but I also use virtual machines quite a lot and remote consoles but I also do some 3D model making, photo editing and occasionally I do some database work.

Here is some additional info I forgot earlier I already have a OCZ vertex 3 240GB drive and a dual screen setup.

Thanks again for the help.
