Im fairly new around here but Im sure you must get hundreds of these threads...anyway just a little help with spec'ing my first proper build. Mostly gaming and music production (have the sound card already). I already have 2 hdd's. Budget no more than 1.2k
After doing some research I built this

the ram might not fit under the cooler, will you be looking to go Crossfire in the future?

Just advice if anyone had any better suggestions price/spec wise. Side note really wanted the 650d because of the top mounted hot swap feature. Really handy with loads of audio HDD's !

Thanks triggerthat, a few questions..
- Why the z77x-d3h, I heard the ud3h had better build quality and saw that the Gene outperformed both.
- Why Samsung over Intel ? there seems to be an impossible myriad of conflicting info about ssd's. But Intel seemed to be the most proven in reliabilty.
- Would the bronze plus really be good enough ? and also I really wanted something modular.
- And finally is there really no point in having 16gb ram ? even for, dare I say it....'future proofing'?
Thanks for your help ! :)

Gigabyte have a UK RMA service, and their boards come highly recommended given the price. The Gene is £50 more, and you are not going to see any significant performance increase. If you want certain motherboard features, then it's worth spending the extra.

PSU - I added the wrong PSU (now modular). 750W is enough if you want to add another 7950 down the line. If not, then you can easily get away with a 500W PSU.

8GB is really enough for gaming. I included 16GB on the assumption that you wanted it (given your original post).

As for SSD, Samsung has a better controller over the Intel.
